Aries
Arietis · Ari
Aries is a zodiac constellation lying between Pisces and Taurus. Although relatively faint, it was historically important as the location of the vernal equinox. Due to precession, the vernal equinox has since moved into Pisces, but the First Point of Aries retains its name.

Mythology & History
In Greek mythology, Aries represents the golden-fleeced ram that rescued Phrixus and Helle from their wicked stepmother. The ram carried them across the sea, but Helle fell and drowned in the strait later named the Hellespont. Phrixus sacrificed the ram and hung its golden fleece in Colchis, later sought by Jason and the Argonauts.
