Taurus is a prominent zodiac constellation containing the Hyades (forming the V-shaped face) and the Pleiades (M45, the Seven Sisters). Aldebaran, an orange giant, marks the bull's eye. Taurus also contains the Crab Nebula (M1), remnant of the supernova of 1054 AD.

When to Observe
Taurus is best observed during January. It is located in the NQ1 quadrant and is primarily visible from the northern hemisphere. The constellation contains 19 main stars forming its asterism, with 44 Bayer/Flamsteed designated stars in total. Its brightest star is Aldebaran.
Mythology & History
In Greek mythology, Taurus represents the bull form taken by Zeus to abduct Europa. He appeared as a white bull and carried her to Crete. The Hyades form the bull's face while the Pleiades ride on its shoulder. Taurus is one of the oldest documented constellations.
